A mural was recently added to the alley side of a restaurant on Capitol Avenue.
Before this was Stella’s African Eatery there was a deli in the spot, and that had a New York-themed mural before getting painted over a few years back.

This used to be a Mom & Pop grocery store when I lived in the neighborhood decades ago. It had the banged up (but official) Coca-Cola tub filled with ice in the middle of the floor. Glass bottles and bottle caps that had to be pried off.
Not shown in your first picture is a ledge that was about up to my eyes; I can remember sitting there with friends after the store was closed for the day.
