“Governed by fear, people are largely cooperative with systems that produce torture, mass death, and annihilation. That is the greatest danger that fear poses: not panic amid disorder, but cooperation with an order that we ought to find unspeakable”
– Kelly Hayes & Mariame Kaba in Let This Radicalize You

I watch peers continue on as if thousands of children have not been needlessly killed since October. They post on social media about their own children, constantly, and say nothing of what it means to be by absolute chance living in a place where they aren’t living in rubble.

To remain agreeable to those actively supporting this violence, they say nothing. Wouldn’t want it to be awkward with the other parents at the playground.

Silence is privilege.
