“Wandering brings mind and movement into a healing congruity”
-Lyanda Lynn Haupt, from Rooted: Life at the Crossroads of Science, Nature, and Spirit

All of the photos in this post were taken in Hartford on Saturday, December 16, 2023.

All is not yet drab this autumn.

They say that travel expands one’s worldview, and this includes traveling at human speed where one lives. Go down the streets that are out of the way, that you are unfamiliar with, that are not part of your everyday routine.

Find the pedestrian-only spaces. Meander around churchyards and pocket parks.

Traipse through community gardens. Slow down and you’ll see that we’re still in a growing season.

Get up and out at dawn if that’s what you need to do to see firsthand that there’s still light.

Climate Possibilities is a series about climate mitigation, along with resilience, resistance, and restoration. It’s about human habitat preservation. It’s about loving nature and planet Earth, and demanding the kind of change that gives future generations the opportunity for vibrant lives. Doomers will be eaten alive, figuratively. All photographs are taken in Hartford, Connecticut unless stated otherwise.
