The hawk will need to find another perch because the large dead tree it adored has been taken down.

Several new trees have been planted along the drive between Ward Street and Allen Place, thanks to the Friends of Zion Hill Cemetery. It will be some time before those are large enough to attract hawks, but they are not scrawny and look like they have a chance at thriving here.

There have been more litter clean-ups, and it shows.

A marker and flowers were even placed for someone who was buried long ago in the potters field.
