Sea Tea Improv, Hartford’s professional improv comedy group, working together since 2009, is holding an audition for new members.

Auditioners — 18+ only — will have two dates to choose from — July 22nd at 4pm and July 24th at 7pm — both at City Steam Brewery’s Brew Ha Ha Comedy Club. Each initial audition lasts three hours and candidates are asked to stay for the full time.

Those interested in auditioning are asked to send a “resume with any and all experience and/or education related to improv, and a headshot (if you have one) or recent photo to auditions@seateaimprov.com […] Walk-ins will be able to audition, but sending a resume and photo ahead of time is strongly encouraged.”

Callbacks will be at 4pm on July 29th at the same location.

On average, the group performs once per week and rehearses up to two times weekly.

Though some of Sea Tea Improv’s gigs are volunteer, most of the performances are paid. Julia Pistell, of Sea Tea Improv, says “one of our goals is to pay ourselves fairly.”
