Silly string, beach balls, bouncy balls, and confetti were sprayed, tossed, heaved, and sprinkled in the Centinel Hill Hall Auditorium at Capital Community College last night.

No, it was not a graduation ceremony.

This was the finale of the HARTT School of Music Composers’ Ensemble performance A Souvenir for Spring. Though blacklights, flashlights, dancers, and roving musicians made the performance of Souvenir the most dramatic, the ending was by no means the only dynamic work featured. Many of the pieces were composed by HARTT students and each was distinct from the next, making for an unpredictable performance. A favorite was the five minute Zoom Zoom (Motor City), which sounded like racing cars.
