This week brought us to the South End, mostly in the area of Goodwin Park where plenty of shade from the hot sun could be found. The swimming pool had not opened yet, but the “spray pool” (water playground?) was operational. No information has been provided by the City of Hartford, but a publication produced by Hartford Public Schools and Hartford Foundation for Public Giving says that the Goodwin Park Pool — along with the outdoor pools in Pope Park, Colt Park, and Keney Park — will open for the season on June 27th, with only one hour of adult swim on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12-1 p.m. The pools are scheduled to close on August 6th.

In Your Neighborhood: Each Saturday we showcase a different neighborhood in Hartford. These photos are taken while out on foot or on bicycle, because Hartford is not the Interstate and we should see it at human speed.
