South Green is located south of Downtown, east of Frog Hollow, west of Sheldon/Charter Oak, and north of Barry Square.
The Bone & Joint Institute being constructed on the sprawling Hartford Hospital campus. Is sprawling the right word? The institution’s footprint, along with that of the other medical facilities spread over several blocks, covers 30% of this neighborhood. At least.
You almost have to wonder why they bothered to put bike lanes on Wethersfield Ave. Between cars using the lanes, still, for on-street parking, and now awareness cones being placed there. . .maybe someone could be hired to do endless studies on why many urban cyclists still opt for sidewalks over streets.
