(2) Take a Tree Buffs tour at Cedar Hill Cemetery at 10 a.m. This two mile walk begins near the entrance bridge. No dogs. (3) Meet at the Butler-McCook House to embark on an “‘urban’ trail” at 1 p.m. This walk is accessible and dogs (on leash) are permitted.

    oin us for this panel discussion about our shared humanity including comments about a groundbreaking and timely new book by LBGTQI activist and author, John Wenke called, “The Human Agenda: Conversations About Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity.” Wenke talked with leading change agents from the LGBTQI community about topics such as growing up, coming out, finding your identity, family, marriage, parenting, healthcare, careers and more. In these conversations, Wenke and guests shared their personal and professional stories along with their profound commitment to freedom and equality. Panel participants include: transgender high fashion model,Gisele Alicea (aka Gisele Xtravaganza), African American Jewish gay hip-hop artist Y-Love, Joe Wenke and Dr. John Allen, founder of the Rainbow Support Group. Books will be available for sale and signing at the event.” This free event is at 6 p.m. in the Hartford Public Library’s Center for Contemporary Culture.

  • What a Way to Go! Cedar Hill Cemetery Foundation invites you to a tour they describe as: “Mayhem, murder and the hazards of everyday life in times gone by are the subjects of this tour led by Evelyn Bollert. Transportation with a mind of its own, constricting corsets, exploding boilers, odorless gases, melancholia, mysticism, mysteries and more – Cedar Hill Cemetery’s denizens tell us tales of the dangers of daily living in the late-19th and early-20th centuries” Free for Let’s Go Arts and Cedar Hill Cemetery Foundation members; $5 for everyone else. 10 a.m.
  • Stop by the Hartford Public Library to view Global Threads at 1 p.m. Free.
  • Farm-to-Street: This dinner — hosted by hosted by Hartford Prints!, ON20, and Hartford Food System — is part catered by ON20 (first course and dessert) and part pot luck (guests bring own entrees). Proceeds benefit Hartford Food System and Our Piece of the Pie. $35. This will be outside on Pratt Street starting at 6 p.m.

  • You have been waiting all year for this: the annual Strawberry Shortcake Festival at the West End Farmers’ Market on Clemens Green (between Twain House and Owen Street on Farmington Avenue). 4-7 p.m. Show up before the strawberry supply is depleted!
  • The Hartford Mobile Market will be stopping at the Boys and Girls Club of Hartford, 1 Nahum Drive, from 4:30-6 p.m. on Tuesdays. Debit and SNAP accepted.
