If you have not been in the area for awhile, you might have missed the bulldozing of Minuteman Park. The spot near the State Armory and Legislative Office Building has had benches removed and planters leveled.
The new Connecticut State Veterans’ Memorial is being constructed in this space. It is intended to honor all past, present, and future Connecticut veterans.

Another jobs for the boys waste of money boondoggle. Major remodeling of a little-used scrap of land between a parking lot and a thoroughfare full of speeding cars. Who exactly is going to hang out there and patriotically contemplate the veterans?

Children sit in this spot when on field trips to the Legislative Office Building and State Capitol. Workers use it on lunch breaks.
Another question could be: why not use this opportunity to get rid of the ugly surface lots surrounding the armory?
