The Festival of India & Ratha Yatra (chariots) — sponsored by ISKCON of Connecticut — could be found in the western section of Bushnell Park. There were greetings of peace and love as families gathered under the trees for shade.

Meanwhile, in the eastern section of the park, the carousel opened for the season. Earlier this year, the carousel was only expected to open for its 100-year celebration and then once more in September, but that has changed. Now, it will be operational Tuesday-Sunday, 11-5.

Nearby, children played in the water playground and watched the heron and ducks in the pond.

Trees are being taken down along the northern edge of Bushnell Park as part of the Intermodal Triangle Project, which is responsible for removing medians from nearby streets.
