Your Chance to Speak for the Trees

The City Forester will be holding a public hearing on June 16 at 6pm in Conference Room A at DPW headquarters, 50 Jennings Road.

If you feel one way or another about the plan to remove over a dozen shade trees from Bushnell Park, show up to speak.

If I’m not mistaken there is a rule stating that any trees removed need in the city to be replaced with new ones. Not that I’m advocating taking trees down willy nilly but if it is deemed necessary that’s an important point and takes away some of the sting.

  Would the trees go in the vicinity (like in the park), or is it just that there needs to be trees planted somewhere in Hartford?
