Dr. Shelley Best, the President and CEO of The Conference of Churches, has been appointed to the Board of Education by Mayor Segarra.
The mayor has also announced today that he has selected current appointed board member Rich Wareing to serve as its Chair.
City Council and the Board of Education will need to confirm these appointments.

I didn’t realize that the Mayor had the power to appoint the board chair. I always thought that was the decision of the body.

Oh, you know, everyone just does whatever now. Call executive session, then never put it back on agenda when meeting gets rescheduled. Ignore a problem principal. Allow media to embed itself with the schools. It’s a free for all.
