At various urban planning and development meetings, we have learned that those guiding the plans have not always been aware that the East Coast Greenway goes through Hartford. The route had been marked with small, painted arrows and had been posted online.
With the addition of more prominent signs around the city, there should no longer be any question.

The question is, how ridable is this route? Frequent turns, bumpy sidewalks, glass, etc can make routes like this more trouble than they’re worth. I rode a stretch of the greenway in West Haven earlier this year that was on a main road with lots of traffic, and through areas that didn’t feel very safe..

The East Coast Greenway is definitely a noble work in progress. Huzzah for signage!
