A prayer circle is planned for noon on Sunday, again in Bushnell Park.
The public is invited to bring letters of “condolence or encouragement” for those close to the violence that occurred yesterday in Newtown, Connecticut.
Amy Donovan says that paper, envelopes, and pens will be provided for people to create these letters on site for “the schoolchildren who survived, the families who lost a loved one, the teachers who were so brave in protecting the children in their rooms or the first responders who saw horrors we cannot imagine to try and save lives.”
Event organizers will deliver these letters.
The prayer circle and balloon release will take place on the north side of the Capitol.
