The Traffic Division of the Hartford Police Department will be conducting DUI enforcement from 5pm on July 12th until 1am on July 13th near 592 Zion Street, between Ward Street and Park Street.
The police department has received a grant from the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation to conduct this checkpoint, which is permitted for up to eight hours.
In March, a checkpoint was moved from State Street to Park Street at the last minute on a night when a large political fundraiser was happening Downtown at the Connecticut Convention Center. Then acting Chief Rovella had claimed this move was to ward off gun violence and had nothing to do with the Democrats’ dinner.
