At 5:15 on August 18th, an evening of urban garden touring begins.

Every summer the group meets up at one of Hartford’s community gardens, travels to four-to-six sites, and then eats a dinner that has been harvested from the gardens.

This year, cyclists and “trolleys” will be departing from the Niles Street Garden, which is located between Sigourney and Laurel. This is also where the tour will conclude. The Sinan Bakir Trio will provide jazz during dinner, which is held outdoors. The meal will be hearty; you will not just get a light salad and be asked to call that satisfying.

In past years, there have been raffles for items like rain barrels.

Governor Malloy, Mayor Segarra, and Hartford City Council members have been invited to the tour.

General admission is $20, but community gardeners are asked to pay $10. To reserve seats or get more information, contact the Knox Parks Foundation.
