Besides books, movie and music rentals, and opportunities for civic engagement, here is another reason we love the Hartford Public Library— they will be handing out general admission passes to the Connecticut Science Center this month.
Passes can be obtained at the Downtown library and any of the Hartford Public Library branches.
This offer is for Hartford residents only; at both the library and CT Science Center, you will need to show proof of residence using any of the following: current library card, driver’s license, or recent piece of received mail that displays your name and address.

This is SO awesome! Thank you! I’ve wanted to go to this behemoth, but they don’t offer a student discount, so the hefty admission price has always kept me away.

Diana – actually they do offer a student discount, which is $1.50 off admission.
Also, since this August promotion won’t last forever, don’t forget to stay tuned with your local library. Every library in the state is sent coupons for 20% off admission for up to 4 people, which they give out at no cost to their patrons.
(If they run out they do have to purchase more, so call first to make sure they have them)
