New Route for Pedestrians

The Mayor Mike Peters Bridge opened yesterday, connecting the Riverfront Plaza with the Connecticut Convention Center.

Besides improving access, the bridge allows for safer dispersal of crowds after major events, like Riverfest.

While not a necessary feature, the bridge provides a better pedestrian route than the alternative — crossing at Grove Street, which becomes an interstate entrance ramp shortly after the intersection.

This is great! Should help with next year’s Riverfest. It was awful leaving this year.
