My gripe about graffiti is less that it is on a place where it does not belong, and more that the taggers are too often lazy/childish and doing nothing to improve on the item they’ve marked. “Defacing” of property should be about making some sort of statement (besides “I have a marker/spray can and was here”) or beautifying an existing object.
My niece worked on putting this mosaic together as a summer project. Sadly, all the kids in her group signed the work down in a corner, and it got cleaned off! Someone must have thought that was grafitti…
Is this along the Riverfront trail? Near Bulkeley Bridge?
It is! I took this photo months and months ago, and remember that right after I did, this mosaic got hit with graffiti.
It’s fortunate you caught it when you did. Some taggers have no clue.
…Or talent.

I so agree. Train car graffiti is so cool.
Smearing fecal gibberish on a pretty sweet mural? Blech!
Back in the day, kids smeared fecal gibberish with care and respect! Where is the pride in poopmanship?
Maybe you ought to go show them whippersnappers how it’s done!
Back in the days of Lees and BVDs… and feces?
Blech!
