Sunday 9/20:
Journalist Dahr Jamail will be speaking at the 8th annual Hope Out Loud. The 2:30 appearance is a stop on his book tour for The Will to Resist: Soldiers Who Refuse to Fight in Iraq and Afghanistan. The festival will go from noon until 5pm and is held near the pond in Bushnell Park.

Thursday 9/24:
The Underscore Orkestra will be filling La Paloma with a Klezmer/Balkan/Gypsy Jazz/Swing mix at 7:30pm. This is them:

Friday 10/2:
“Tapping into Twain” will go from 5:30-10pm at the Twain House. It’s a brew-centered fundraising event for The Mark Twain House & Museum.

Jeff Mainville’s Acoustic Smackdown – billed as “the world’s most dangerous trio” — is booked to play while the crowd samples a huge variety of beers and snacks provided by the region’s finest microbreweries and local restaurants. The drinks will hail from John Harvard’s, City Steam, Shipyard, Sea Dog, and more. Wood-n-Tap, Hook and Ladder, and other restaurants will serve food.
